This Assignment is about a lot of different things, but to start with this is going to be about two events that changed my life in any sort of way. It will be put into a short story, and An oral reading about it.

My first event: Moving away from home to go to the hill 

Another event that really changed my life so far was making the decision to move away from Michigan to go to the hill academy where i would grow as a hockey player and a person. Leaving home was not an easy decision, my mom wasn’t on board till the last minute. But i knew it was necessary in order to challenge myself and reach my full potential in sports and as a human. Being away from home with not a lot of help from my parents taught me to be independent, and responsible, on and off the ice. I used to struggle with time management but now since i came to the hill I have that covered. And a lot of other stuff like relying on others, and to hold myself accountable etc. As a result i have grown as a person and a better hockey player.

My second event: Giving my life to Christ (Short story)

The room was dead silent the worship has just ended, Spring Hill has Ben really loud, energetic, fun, and really exhausting but this moment felt different, it was calm heavier. Our mentor stepped forward in front of my group and said “if anyone feels called to give and demote their life to Christ step forward and we can do exactly that together.”

Those words stuck in my head, I’ve known about Jesus and what he has did but I’ve never felt this connected, it was like jesus himself was in my head telling me to step forward and give it all to him. It grew stronger and stronger “DO IT… DO IT” i heard in my mind. My legs moved and before my mind caught up. When i stood up i could feel every look at me, it felt like they could hear me breathe. 

Me and my mentor we knelt together and we prayed, the room around me faded. The noise in my head, the worries, the pressure the feeling that I always had to have control were silent. When the prayer ended i felt a huge weight lift apron my shoulders like god took the weight and took control. It was perfect I felt guided and strong and for the first time I felt like I didn’t have to control everything that goes on around me.

Since that night my life has really been different, i have felt more confident in who I am, I stoped carrying what other think about me, I’ve made better choices and avoided sin a lot more, and trusting the Holy Spirit to guide me into what’s right instead of the temptation. That moment at Spring Hill taught me that faith isn’t about having all the answers, its about trusting the one who dose. 

 

Me and Katniss Everdeen 

I can relate to Katniss Everdeen because we were both put into a situation where we were taken away from home, and forced us to grow up quickly. Katniss is chosen to attend into the hunger games, while i chose to attend the Hill Academy for hockey and personal development. Even though mine wasn’t life threatening we both had to move away from are homes and family’s to pursue this new life. Both experiences forced us to become more mature. Where Katniss had to learn how to survive on her own, while I had to become better with time management and being more independent and not relying on my patents as much. We both felt nervous and Maybe even a little scared. However there are differences like Katniss was forced into her situation and I chose to be in mine. But we still had to move away from home and leave are family’s, And she won the games and I’ve developed as a person, and a hockey player. 

Assignment reflection 

One test that I am proud of is my elements of a story quiz. I struggled with identifying different literacy devices, and understanding moods etc, but I just studied and kept working on it and having my friends quiz me. And in the end all of my hard work payed off and I got a really good grade and i was happy with myself.

One quiz that i am not happy with is my Romeo and Juliet quiz. I struggled to remember a lot of the quotes that were in the story, and also some details. I studied and worked hard and I thought I new everything that i need to know so i just stoped studying and when it came to quiz time i thought i was going to fly right through until I got to the second page where it were the quotes and the long answer questions about describing events that have young irratinoal love etc.

My first post is Peeta and katniss  holding the night lock berries at the very end of the games and he would post this because he is rebellious against the capital and she is doing exactly that in that moment. The caption was hope this plan worked he would ay this because he was trying to trick the game makers and announce that the two of them could both win the games.

 

My second post is Peeta decorating a cake. Peeta would post this because he worked in a cake shop with his mom and he would decorate the cakes and he is really good at it. The caption was art but it’s edible. He made this caption because it was clever and because he is happy about the cake he decorated.

 

My third post is about him carrying big bags of flour to get a workout in. He would post this because his main strength in the games was his strength and throwing heavy objects across the room and this workout would help  his strength. The caption was lifting heavy but not at the gym. The reason he and this is because he works at a cake shop and he dosent need weights to get strong to help him in the games he just need giant bags of flour to get strong.
